GetFieldSelections(Region)
GetFieldSelections and GetSelectedCount in Power BI
GetFieldSelections returns the selected values of a field as text, often for dynamic titles. In DAX you combine ISFILTERED, VALUES and CONCATENATEX.
Short answer: Use IF(ISFILTERED(Customer[Region]), CONCATENATEX(VALUES(Customer[Region]), Customer[Region], ", ")). Count with COUNTROWS(VALUES(...)).
What it does in Qlik
GetFieldSelections(field [, value_sep [, max_values]]) returns the selected values in a field, or "x of y" if more than max_values (default 6) are selected. With no selection it returns NULL. GetSelectedCount(field) returns how many values are selected.
Qlik example
='Sales for ' & If(GetSelectedCount(Region) = 0, 'all regions', GetFieldSelections(Region, ', ', 6))Power BI equivalent
DAX measure for a dynamic title
Region title =
"Sales for "
& IF (
NOT ISFILTERED ( Customer[Region] ),
"all regions",
VAR n = COUNTROWS ( VALUES ( Customer[Region] ) )
VAR total = COUNTROWS ( ALL ( Customer[Region] ) )
RETURN
IF (
n <= 6,
CONCATENATEX ( VALUES ( Customer[Region] ), Customer[Region], ", ", Customer[Region], ASC ),
n & " of " & total
)
)Use the measure in the visual title through Format > Title > fx.
Gotchas and behaviour differences
ISFILTEREDis true only for a direct filter on the column (slicer, filter pane). Cross-filtering from another slicer makesISCROSSFILTEREDtrue instead. That matches Qlik, where only explicit selections are listed.VALUESreturns the values that are still visible after every filter. If another slicer excludes one of the selected regions, it disappears from the list. Qlik still shows it as selected.- Power BI has no general "current selections" bar. Show a filter summary with measures like this one, or turn on the filter pane.

Only(Region)
Only
Only() returns a value when exactly one value is possible and null otherwise. In DAX that is SELECTEDVALUE, which also accepts an alternate result.
Direct equivalent
Concat(DISTINCT Product, ', ')
Concat (string aggregation)
Concat() joins values into one string. DAX has CONCATENATEX and Power Query has Text.Combine. The sort order and the duplicate handling are different from Qlik's defaults.
Direct equivalent
Sum({StateName} Sales)
Alternate states (comparative analysis)
Alternate states give objects independent selection sets, for example comparing two groups of regions side by side. Power BI has one filter context per visual, plus disconnected tables and measures that apply them with TREATAS. There is no built-in "state" concept.
